We used to down load weekly shows and a movie or two from the Hopper and take it on vacation.

Whether it’s that after hitting the WATCH button I need to restart the app 90% of the time because it froze or showed an error message, or the download function doesn’t work, or the layout changes dramatically with updates and I have to search for stuff I had already learned, or the image jumps 5 or 6 seconds ahead and I have to rewind throughout a recorded show, or... This is a great idea to have access to my programming and recordings from anywhere.

Nonetheless, I confront issues every single time I use this app. I rate this 3star because I like this idea and it is better than not being able to watch my programs, but from time to time, it get so frustrating that I decide to just close the app and wait until I get home -which defeats the purpose of the app altogether.

I've called and complained, and they say they get lots of complaints about it, but the clear message is they don't give a damn, nor is there a way to choose the time this should happen. With the exception of this one issue, I'm happy with Dish, and have no regrets about dumping Charter 6 months ago. My buddy has Dish and a Hopper and he has complained about this before.

He's been a Dish customer for a long time and said you used to be able to set the update time on the older models.

DISH Anywhere requires an online DISH account and one of the following DISH Network receiver models: 512, 522, 625, 612, 622, 722, 722k, 922, Hopper, Hopper with Sling.Can still view recordings on my i Pad mini but stops when I connect it to hdmi adapter to view on tv screen.
